Standard Lasik Eye Surgery in Delhi
Standard LASIK is a treatment of all types of refractive error problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. It is a scientific procedure that involves adjustment to the curvature of the cornea by the excimer laser. There are three different laser eye surgeries namely LV Premier LASIK, LV Optimized LASIK and LV Platinum LASIK.
Which one of the procedures is adopted for the patients depends on the individual’s need. In the process of standard LASIK the process involves reshaping the cornea using an advanced laser, the amount of reshaping done to the cornea will be determined by some diagnostic tests that are done before the procedure. In this process, a surgical tool is used to create a flap on the cornea and a laser is used.
The Procedure of Standard LASIK Eye Surgery:
- Before your LASIK surgery, numbing eye drops are applied to your eye to prevent any discomfort during the procedure. Your eye will be positioned under the laser, and an instrument called a lid speculum is used to keep your eyelids open.
- A motorized surgical tool called a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser is used to create a thin, circular flap in the cornea of patients. The eye-surgeon then folds back this hinged flap to access the underlying cornea
- An excimer laser, a highly specialized laser uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to remove microscopic amounts of tissue from the cornea to reshape it so it more accurately focuses light on the retina for improved vision by reshaping the corneal stroma
- The corneal flap is laid back in place, where it sticks to the corneal stroma without stitches
Benefits of Standard Lasik Surgery:
Laser eye surgery offers numerous benefits and can dramatically improve your quality of life. Most people achieve 6/6 vision or better after the surgery, but outcomes vary from person to person. A small percentage of people need a LASIK enhancement or “touch up” procedure, a few months after the primary LASIK surgery to achieve acceptable visual acuity.
